Tentsile celebrates International day of Forests by planting 30,000 trees!

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 21st the International Day of Forests back in 2012 in order to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests. With 10 million hectares lost annually to deforestation and approximately 70 million hectares affected by fires, tree-planting efforts are more important than ever.

Tentsile x CampWild

Since launching Camp Wild, more than 75 Wild Spaces have become available and the awe-inspiring network is growing every week. The environments and landscapes are unique and truly varied, and include everything from an Atlantic rainforest, wildflower meadows and working farms, to country estates and dense woodlands, with many offering access to beautiful waterfalls, lakes or streams, to name just a few.
Mangroves and More

Mangroves and More

Our project with Earth Lungs focuses specifically on mangroves. Although for team Tentsile UK, mangroves are associated with hot and exotic climes in parts of the world we can only dream of (whilst sipping tea in the grey drizzle that is our little island!), for millions of people around the globe, the importance of mangroves cannot be over-stated. Whether you live in Florida or Kenya, Costa Rica or Madagascar, you will be aware that mangroves are the backbone of many eco-systems the world over.

Green Friday – Turning Black Friday Green

Green Friday – Turning Black Friday Green

In the chaos of Black Friday we wanted to remind everyone that you can shop more positively, and how here at Tentsile we invest in worthwhile causes and try to give back where we can. We are an independent, family-owned business who strive to tread more lightly on Earth and encourage everyone else to do the same.

We encourage you all to get out as much as you can and experience the joy of nature as well as spending quality time with friends and family.

Tentsile Reaches Goal of Planting 1 Million Trees!

Tentsile Reaches Goal of Planting 1 Million Trees!

We are absolutely thrilled to share the incredible news that Tentsile have now reached our target of planting 1 Million trees in 10 years, with our tree planting partners! Protecting and preserving the World’s forests has always been at the very heart of everything we do here at Tentsile. We don’t plant trees so that we can sell more Gear – in fact it’s the exact opposite – we sell tents so that we can plant as many trees as possible. Simple.

Tentsile Become Founding Members of the Restorative Coalition

Tentsile Become Founding Members of the Restorative Coalition

Back in April 2023, we began working with veritree so that we could better verify, monitor and protect the trees we have planted in partnership with them. So, when veritree invited us to become a founding member of their newly launched Restorative Coalition, we couldn’t wait to get started!

The Restorative Coalition is community of businesses committed to integrating nature restoration into their operations. Through this collaboration, we aim to use collective knowledge, resources, and expertise to drive positive change and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The Impact of Deforestation

The Impact of Deforestation

We often get asked why Tree Planting is such an integral part of our business at Tentsile. There are hundreds of corporates planting trees now after all, as part of carbon offsetting initiatives which go some way to counterbalancing a company’s carbon footprint and environmental impact. So why is it so central to our values?

Plastic Free July 2023 – how to be part of the solution

Becoming less dependent on plastic is definitely a journey we’re all on, especially here at Tentsile too. And we’re certainly not there yet, there’s still so much more to do. Last year we stopped using any single-use plastic in our factory and instructed all our suppliers not to use plastic packaging in the transportation of our materials. Find out more about the steps we've taken, and why we are so committed to eradicating single use plastics once and for all.

Measuring our Impact with Verified Tree Planting

The very foundation of our brand is built upon Tree Planting. From the outset, we have pledged to protect global forests from deforestation with every Tree Tent we sell. In the decade since we started out, we are incredibly proud to say that we’ve helped plant over 967,000 trees across Zambia, Madagascar, India and the United States with partners including leading restoration experts WeForest, Eden Reforestation Projects, and Arbor Day Foundation.
